Procedure for choosing Bharat Ratna
The Bharat Ratna award selection procedure differs from the Padma award procedure. In this, the President of India is recommended a candidate for Bharat Ratna by the Prime Minister of India. For Bharat Ratna, no official recommendation is necessary. Without regard to a person's gender, caste, occupation, or rank, they are all eligible for this prize. Every year, only three Bharat Ratnas are awarded. Furthermore, the Bharat Ratna award does not have to be granted annually. There have been 48 recipients of the Bharat Ratna award thus far. The most recent time this accolade was bestowed was in 2019. 2019 saw the posthumous Bharat Ratnas granted to Dr Bhupen Hazarika in the arts, former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee in the field of social service, and Nanaji Deshmukh in the field of public service.
What is given to awardees of Bharat Ratna?
The Indian government awards Bharat Ratna awardees with a medal and a certificate. This distinction carries no financial reward. Facilities are provided to recipients by government departments. For instance, the Railways provide free travel amenities to Bharat Ratna recipients. Recipients of Bharat Ratna are invited to take part in significant government initiatives. He is granted a position in the Warrant of Presidency by the government. Following the President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Governor, Former President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chief Justice, Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Cabinet Minister, Chief Minister, Former Prime Minister, and Leader of the Opposition in both Houses of Parliament are those who receive the Bharat Ratna in the protocol. The President's Warrant is used to provide privileges in government initiatives. Bharat Ratna recipients are provided with facilities in their states by state governments. It is not possible to add this accolade before or after your name. On the other hand, awardees may write "Bharat Ratna Recipient" or "Awarded Bharat Ratna by the President" on their visiting card, biodata, or letterhead.
