History
The origins of Team India trace back to 1928 with the formation of the BCCI. India's inaugural international match was against England on June 25, 1932 at Lord's Cricket Ground in London. The team achieved its first Test victory in 1952 against England in Madras (now Chennai). Since then, Indian cricket has seen significant growth and success internationally. Today, India is considered one of the strongest teams globally.

Formats and Achievements
India played its first ODI in 1974 against England and debuted in T20Is versus South Africa in 2006. Over time, the team has established itself as a powerhouse across all formats. Notable achievements include winning the ICC Cricket World Cup twice (1983, 2011), the ICC World Twenty20 in 2007, and the ICC Champions Trophy on two occasions (2002, 2013). India has also consistently performed well in Test cricket, achieving the top ICC Test Team Rankings position multiple times. Individual Indian cricketers have earned prestigious awards like ICC Player/Cricketer of the Year.
